Tunisia regains its tourism throne: 11 million visitors and unprecedented numbers in 2025

  •  Number of visitors (number of tourists)
The number of foreign visitors in 2025 reached more than 11 million tourists, a new historical record that exceeds the level before the Corona pandemic (2019) and is higher than 10.26 million in 2024.
  • Tourism Revenue
  • Tunisia achieved tourism revenues of approximately 8.09 billion Tunisian dinars in 2025 (approximately **2.8 billion dollars), an increase of 6.3 – 6.5 percent over 2024.
  • As of the end of November 2025, revenues exceeded 7.5 billion dinars, with the increase continuing compared to last year.
  • In the first half of the year, total revenues amounted to about 3 billion dinars.

  •  Growth rates compared to previous years
  • Tourist numbers increased by about 10 – 11% in 2025 compared to 2024.
  • Revenues increased by about 6 – 8 percent compared to 2024 during different periods of the year.
  • The increase in the number of European and Maghreb visitors contributed significantly to the growth.
  • Major source markets
  • Maghreb markets (especially Algeria and Libya) constituted a large percentage of expatriates.
  • The European market, especially France, remained one of the most prominent foreign markets exporting tourists to Tunisia.

Performance in 2025 reflects a strong recovery after years of weakness (Corona pandemic and its aftermath).

Tunisia has exceeded its targets in terms of the number of visitors and revenues, supported by policies to diversify the tourism offer (cultural, health, environmental, desert…) and improve the quality of services.
